The bottom line
We put the operating system and clean books in place with your general manager and your team. They do the work with us. You help set the direction and approve key decisions. The end result is a hotel you can oversee through one clear monthly summary, with important exceptions brought to you when needed.
Here’s what you get
Operations
Jay leads with your general manager and department leaders.
- Clear roles, decision limits, and one shared set of principles.
- Written standards, procedures, and checklists for critical tasks.
- Trained, qualified people, with backups for critical roles.
- Clear handoffs, plans for disruptions, and one home for current documents.
Accounting
Doug leads with your accounting department and general manager.
- The controller role resolved. The general manager decides whether to develop the current accounting lead or hire.
- If hiring is needed, Doug works with the general manager to find and screen candidates.
- A clean chart of accounts. Accounts, deposits, payroll, and taxes reconciled. Bills owed and money due brought current.
- Two consecutive month-end closes completed on the agreed date.
- A monthly report package delivered through the general manager.
What’s in the monthly report?
Profit and loss by department, balance sheet, cash flow, payroll, accrued taxes, bills owed and money due by age, occupancy, average daily room rate, and revenue per available room.
Your team: Optional training helps leaders use approved AI tools in their day-to-day work.
Here’s what it will do for you
- Your leaders run the hotel to standard, with you on property or away.
- Routine problems stay with the people responsible for solving them. You get the decisions that need you.
- One monthly summary shows the true condition of your hotel.
- Clean books support your decisions, including a sale if you ever choose one.
- You have more freedom over your time, without losing oversight.

Here’s how to get it
Text us and tell us what you’re thinking, so we can make sure this gives you what you want. From there, we set the start date with you and your general manager and schedule our two days on property.
For scheduling: I travel Thursday for a family commitment.
A scheduling note
There is no pressure here. The plan stands on its own, and it is yours either way.
Jay has the option of a ten-day engagement in November with a former SEAL buddy. Working with you at Magic Moment is his first choice. He simply wants to let his buddy know his plans for November.
This is just scheduling context, not a deadline for your decision.
